How To Maintain A Concrete Mixer

Dec 28, 2024 Leave a message

Concrete mixers play a vital role in construction projects. In order to ensure their efficient and stable operation and extend their service life, daily maintenance is essential. This not only ensures the quality and efficiency of concrete production, but also reduces the occurrence of failures and reduces maintenance costs.

I.Key points for daily maintenance

1. Cleaning and inspection: Keep the body of the concrete mixer clean, and remove dirt and obstacles on the body in time to avoid affecting the normal operation of the equipment or damaging parts. Check the oil, circuits and control equipment at each lubrication point, add lubricating oil as required, ensure that all parts of the equipment are well lubricated and supplied with electricity, and ensure its normal operation.

2. Idle test: Before each shift, add water to the mixing barrel and idle for 1 to 2 minutes, and check the reliability of the clutch and brake device. Idle can detect potential problems of the equipment in advance, such as whether the clutch is slipping, whether the brake is sensitive, etc., to prepare for formal work.

3. Operation monitoring: During the operation of the concrete mixer, the noise of the motor, reducer, and transmission gear should be checked at any time to see if it is normal and whether the temperature rise is too high. Abnormal noise may indicate component wear, looseness or other faults, and excessive temperature rise may cause component damage. Timely detection and treatment of these problems can prevent the expansion of faults.

4. Cleaning after work: After each shift, clean the concrete mixer carefully to remove residual concrete and other impurities to prevent them from solidifying in the equipment and affecting the next use. It also helps to keep the appearance of the equipment clean and tidy, making it easier to check whether the equipment is damaged or abnormal.

II.Level 1 maintenance content

1. Component disassembly and adjustment: disassemble and inspect the clutch, check and adjust the brake clearance, and replace the inner and outer brake bands of the clutch if they are too worn to ensure the good performance of the clutch and brake device. In addition, check the wire rope, V-belt, sliding bearing, water distribution system, and travel wheel components to check their wear, looseness or damage and deal with them in time.

2. Special inspection of forced mixers: For forced concrete mixers, it is necessary to check and adjust the gap between the mixing blades and the scraper and the liner to ensure the mixing effect; check the sealing and flexibility of the upper hopper and discharge door to prevent leakage and jamming; check the degree of wear of the clutch and whether the water distribution system is normal to ensure the coordinated operation of all parts of the equipment.
3. Chain drive inspection: Concrete mixers that use chain rotation need to check the elongation of the chain pitch. The elongation of the chain pitch may cause problems such as unstable transmission and tooth skipping. Timely discovery and treatment can maintain the reliability of the chain drive.

III. Secondary maintenance requirements

The secondary maintenance cycle of a concrete mixer is generally 700-1500h working hours. In addition to the primary maintenance work:

1. Reducer disassembly and inspection: When disassembling and inspecting the reducer, clean the gears, shafts, shaft stubs and oil channels, check the wear degree of the tooth profile surface, and add new gear oil after disassembly and inspection. This helps to ensure the normal lubrication and transmission efficiency of the reducer and extend its service life.

2. Motor maintenance: When disassembling and inspecting the motor, remove dust from the stator winding, clean the bearings and add new lubricating grease, and check and adjust the gap between the stator and the rotor. Ensure that the motor has good heat dissipation and stable operation, and reduce equipment downtime due to motor failure.

3. Open gear maintenance: When disassembling and inspecting the open gear, clean the gear tooth profile, shaft and bearing, check the wear, and replace them if they are excessively worn. Open gears are exposed to the outside and are easily affected by dust and debris. Regular maintenance can ensure their normal meshing and transmission.

4. Brake belt replacement: If the inner and outer brake belts of the feeding clutch are excessively worn, they should be replaced in time to ensure the reliability and safety of the brake.

5. Frame maintenance: When the frame of the concrete mixer is skewed and deformed, it should be repaired or corrected to ensure the stability of the overall structure of the equipment and prevent damage or failure of other components caused by frame problems.

6. Inspection of auxiliary parts: When disassembling and inspecting the water meter, straighten the sleeve position, remove the rust around the suction pipe and sleeve and the inner lever, and apply anti-rust paint; when disassembling and inspecting the three-way valve, remove the rust and scale near the valve cavity and the pipe interface to keep the waterway unobstructed. For special mechanisms, such as rubber rollers, travel switches, water meters, solenoid valves, etc., they can be regularly inspected, adjusted and cleaned according to the situation to ensure the normal operation of each accessory component and maintain the stable operation of the entire concrete mixer system.

By strictly following the above maintenance requirements to regularly maintain the concrete mixer, it can always be in good working condition, providing reliable guarantee for concrete production in construction projects.
